Signing Out!

Yet again, another successful edition of SYTM prediction games.

And this time the tournament bedazzled us, more than anyone. There were lot of moments where our hearts might have skipped a beat or two.

Congratulations again to the members who had been supporting Argentina. True feat to be a deserving Champion and to have the 3rd World Cup!

Champion of FIFA WC 2022 Prediction League is Raulter. It has been a decade that Raulter has been with SYTM and this edition has been rewarding to some of the Old faithfuls. He had an incredible acceleration when the knockout stage started, galloped ahead and settled with a handsome lead over others. Raulter also won the Bull’s eye award for most number of correct predictions.

Joey, who was the champion of Euro 2020 league had a slow start this time. But he finished just behind Raulter. Top finishes in consecutive editions is excellent, and he certainly is a member to watch out for, in the future editions.

Sidaxe was at the top position for the first half of the tournament, till 52nd match. We had a recognition in earlier formats for Maximum days at No.1 Spot. This edition it goes to Sidaxe. He took the top position in match 14 and retained the top position till match 53, with only Raulter peeping ahead once in the midday of 27th Nov in match 27!

Troy had a dream debut in SYTM. He maintained a judicious balance between gambling and prediction, and in the end emerged as one of the most successful member in this edition!

Sachin was very consistent with his predictions and ranked quite high on the table, but the unpredictability of the tournament took a toll on his fund balance.

I tried my best to keep me motivated while my team (Germany) took the flight back home even before Mbappe scored half of his total goal tally.

Akash has been another excellent performer this edition. Apparently he was nowhere in the race throughout most part of the prediction game. But he climbed up the ranks with some rock solid predictions and ended in a pretty good position. Cherry on top, he also ended up winning the alternate award for Golden Glove - 2nd highest prediction accuracy. This is some WC 2022 level twist of events!

Maggi had a great start and even appeared at the top spot on the 4th day of the tournament. But then he slipped down and as the tournament progressed, it became tough to climb up the ranks. Still he managed to come out of the war without any scratches (loss). Tricky deal!

Sati was also doing great in the first half of the tournament. Infact he made 5 correct predictions out of the first 7 matches, and hence was the table topper on day 2 and 3. However from the knockouts, there was the undesired downslide which incurred some heavy loss. Such was the level of competition. Still Sati finished with a decent rank on the league table.

Maybe the prediction model which is planned for the next edition may be more suitable for some of the members here. This remains a key aspect to be handled in SYTM future, as some of the members prefer the gambling mode.

Ankur had been an active member, sharing views and feedbacks and also engaging in sports debates. Such participations are always encouraged. SYTM need sports enthusiasts like him!

Anfield seems to have settled down as a SYTM regular. Active participation is appreciated, surely better rank awaits him in future editions.

Jongs, runners up of Euro 2020 edition (as well as Champion of Euro 2012 Edition), experienced a not so pleasant time with this edition. He grabbed the Charity award for the highest loss from match predictions. But his live pictures and videos from Qatar RO16 matches are certainly an asset. For future editions a member’s upload section can be thought of.

Another prodigal son of SYTM, Soham has also been showered with rewards this time! Merit goes to his brilliant predictions in the group stages where uncertainty was the certainty. He accumulated a healthy profit figure through a difficult phase of the tournament and was happy to sit back at the later stages. No one else could surpass his brilliant prediction accuracy of 66.67%, and he won the Astrologer award! Now the future of SYTM rests on him.

Experimentation was the theme for Adhiraj. The usual suspect had been in 2nd position in the first edition of SYTM (2010), but this time he did not seem to make any honest attempt to claim table top position. Instead the focus was on making profit from bonus and brave gambles, which was successfully accomplished in the end.

Bipin is another member who was very impressive in his first SYTM league. He joined late but climbed up the ranks with authority. The last few matches did not go well enough for him, but by the end of Quarter Final stage he already had stacked up his profit to a level which had given a cushion to play around. He finished with positive results and promises for more in future editions.

Now comes MP. What a show! At one point MP was competing for Charity Award.  Then on 9th December, he made the highest profit in a day in this edition, which eventually saw him finish with a positive profit figure. MP also is the only person to win 4 of the Awards!

DadaJosh, a strong Brazil supporter bong. Samba dance didn't last long, but Dada's enthusiasm did. Always available on the chat forum during matches!

Keshav. FIFA WC 2022 Predictions would not have been possible if Keshav had not stepped up to conduct the prediction games. Financially, it did not go too well for him, but nonetheless, Keshav remains a key member for the future of SYTM. And I am sure SYTM will reward him in one of the future editions, just like she did to some of the loyal sons this time around.

RedDevil was the symbol of inconsistency. He made some brilliant predictions, and then some poor predictions, which let him down.

S Roy had his gambling hat on right from the word go. Grabbed the Ballsy Award along with Nilashish for winning with least odds. There were a few more eye catching prediction from him and he covered almost all positions of the league table in 1 month.

The total polls posted for the tournament, can be found from the prediction stats of Sayak. This guy predicted everything, all match outcome questions and all bonus questions. This kind of dedication usually do not go unrewarded, and he grabbed the Blind Spot Award as a consolation to the heavy loss incurred.

Aham had been a very careful trader. He remained active over the channel, but had a fastidious selection approach for the matches to predict.

Aham, Akash, Joey, Maggi, Raulter, Sidaxe all won 3 awards each.

Masidhere also made selective predictions, specially with a lot of trust on his supported team Argentina, which paid off in  a way that he still managed to make some profit.

Nilasish hit the jackpot in group stage match, along with S Roy. Although his predictions receded, at the later stage, Nilashish managed to come out with a slender profit margin, but finishing in the lower half of the league table.

Bumba had a podium finish last time (3rd). This time he ended on a similar podium finish, but on the other side of the league table. On a positive note, both the prediction accuracy and profit looks healthy for him in the end.

Maddy too had a tough time this time around. An updated version of SYTM awaits for his more entertaining participation in near future.

In last edition, Sounak had won a match prediction with 1/20 odds. The branded gambler of SYTM ran out of luck this time. Only 3 correct predictions out of 20, might be the lowest individual prediction accuracy ever recorded in SYTM. Maybe better luck awaits for next time!

It was a pleasure for me to host you guys (along with Keshav’s help), and certainly looking forward to arrange the prediction games for the upcoming tournaments!

Next Plans :

It has been 12 years since the inception of SYTM. We have evolved over the years, however we have always been crippled with limited members due to the lack of proper infrastructure. It is time that we step up to build the application properly. The coming few months are very crucial for us.

Our focus is to build the app/website with basic prediction games by September 2023. We intend to do a round of beta testing with some of existing members on Champions League matches for UCL 2023-2024. Please let us know if you are interested.

Parallelly we would continue to work on building extra features and make the app/website ready for commercial launch before Euro 2024.

It is still in nascent stage, and it needs all of your love and support to bloom.

All we ask from you at this point in time is to spread the word! Let your friends and relatives know about SYTM. In Euro 2024, you may also see the feature to conduct the prediction game yourself with your set of close circle friends/colleagues, using SYTM league features.

Stay tuned! More updates will come in the middle of next year.

Until then, keep predicting!
